I've started carrying one everywhere because skipping it—even once—comes with consequences.
That said, applying sunscreen in this heat can feel miserable. Heavy, greasy formulas make skin feel suffocated, oily, and uncomfortable.
Over time, I've tested a few underrated sunscreens that are lightweight, fluid, and gentle enough for sensitive skin—and these are the ones that truly stood out.

1. La Roche-Posay Tone-Up Rosy (30ml – $41.52)

I picked this up during a phase when my skin was extremely dry and sensitive, and I needed something reliable. La Roche-Posay has always been a brand I trust, so even though I was hesitant to apply sunscreen at the time, I decided to give this a try.

2. d'Alba UV Essence Waterfull+ Tone-Up Color Correcting (50ml – $24.25)

The texture of this sunscreen is beautiful—light, watery, and easy to spread. It feels refreshing the moment it touches the skin, which is perfect for hot weather. However, on my skin tone, the tone-up effect leans a little too pale and can appear slightly white.

3. d'Alba UV Essence Waterfull+ (50ml – $23.70)

This one is my absolute favorite. It checks every box I look for in a sunscreen. The formula is incredibly lightweight, never sticky, and layers well—making reapplication easy throughout the day.
Finding the right sunscreen can completely change how consistent you are with sun protection—especially in hot, humid climates. These underrated options prove that sunscreen doesn't have to feel heavy or unpleasant. Lightweight, skin-friendly formulas really do exist, and once you find the right one, there's no going back
