I recently tried pulsed dye laser (PDL) treatment, and I wanted to share what it’s really like from a personal perspective.
This laser is often used to target redness, broken capillaries, rosacea, and certain vascular scars, and it can truly make a difference—but here’s what going through it felt like for me.

1. How the Treatment Feels

During the session, the laser targets the blood vessels under the skin. It feels like quick little snaps or warm pinches on the treated areas. Honestly, it’s not unbearable, though certain spots were more sensitive than others. The practitioner used a cooling device alongside the laser, which really helped minimize discomfort. The session itself was relatively quick, and I was able to relax most of the time.

2. Results I Noticed

Over the first few days, my skin had some mild redness and slight swelling, which is normal. Within a week or two, I started noticing the targeted areas looking less red and more even-toned. Small broken capillaries seemed to fade, and overall my skin appeared calmer. The difference wasn’t dramatic overnight, but with a few sessions, the improvement became more visible, which felt really rewarding.

3. Recovery and Aftercare

Recovery was fairly straightforward. My skin felt a bit tender for a day or two, and I avoided sun exposure to protect the treated areas. Moisturizers and gentle skincare were key during this time. By the third day, most of the temporary redness had settled, and I could continue my normal routine. I also noticed that my makeup applied more smoothly after the treatment, which was a nice bonus.
Pulsed dye laser isn’t a quick fix, but it’s an effective way to reduce redness and even out skin tone over time. Patience, multiple sessions, and proper aftercare are essential, but the results are genuinely noticeable. For anyone dealing with persistent redness or broken capillaries, this treatment can be a real confidence booster
