Lip Balm: This or That?

· Fashion team
Welcome, Lykkers! My lips get dry so easily, so I’m always testing lip products that promise more than just a pretty shine. I want something that actually makes my lips feel soft and comfortable, even when the product has worn away.
I put two popular options head-to-head: Jouer Lip Enhancer Balm and Laneige Glowy Lip Balm in Berry.
1. Jouer Lip Enhancer Balm — 10/10
Jouer is the one I keep reaching for when my lips are seriously craving moisture. The formula has a thicker consistency, so it feels almost like a protective layer sitting on my lips rather than a quick swipe of gloss. It goes on clear and gives my lips a juicy shine without feeling overly sticky. What really sold me is how my lips feel once the balm wears off. They still feel moisturized, soft, and plump instead of instantly asking for another layer. I also love the staying power. It can hang around for hours, so I’m not constantly checking my bag for the next application.
2. Laneige Glowy Lip Balm — 6/10
Laneige wins me over with the color. Berry gives my lips a pretty pink tint that makes them look naturally fresh, and the glossy finish is really cute for an everyday makeup look. The texture is much thinner and more slippery compared with Jouer, so it feels lighter when I apply it. My lips definitely feel hydrated while the balm is sitting on them, but I don’t get the same lasting comfort once the shine disappears. It also wears off faster for me, meaning I find myself reaching for it again throughout the day.
For me, Jouer Lip Enhancer Balm takes the win. Laneige has the prettier tinted look, but Jouer gives me the lasting moisture I actually want from a lip balm. If my lips are having one of those painfully dry days, I already know which one is coming with me. Sometimes a glossy finish is nice, but waking up with comfortable, moisturized lips after wearing a balm? That’s what really gets my vote.
