Good Day, Lykkers! Having highlights is cute until your hair starts asking for extra attention. My hair can feel a little dry after washing, especially through the ends, so I’ve become much more intentional about what I put on it while it’s still damp.
I don’t use a million products after every shower. I usually reach for a few favorites that help with tangles, frizz, heat, and that extra bit of shine I’m always chasing.
1. Verb Ghost Oil — $20
This is the product I reach for when my ends are looking a little thirsty. The oil has a thicker consistency, so I don’t need much at all. I warm a small amount between my hands and work it through the ends of my damp hair, avoiding the roots. Once my hair dries, it looks noticeably shinier and feels much softer. It also helps calm down some of the frizz that likes to show up after washing. And the smell? So good. I’ve definitely had moments where I put it in my hair and then keep touching my ends because they feel that nice.

2. L'Oréal 21-in-1 Color Care Spray — $10.29
For an affordable multitasker, I really like this one. The formula has a milky, lightweight consistency that comes in a spray bottle, so it’s easy to distribute throughout my hair without making the whole routine complicated. I usually spray it all over my damp hair after showering, especially when I know I’ll be using heat later. It also makes detangling so much easier, which is honestly one of my favorite things about it. Having heat protection plus several other hair benefits in one bottle is a huge bonus for me, especially when I don’t feel like layering five different products.
3. EVA•NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Spray — $12.99
This one is my detangling MVP. It has more of an oil-like feel even though it comes out as a mist, and it makes brushing through damp hair so much easier. My hair feels smoother and less difficult to work with afterward. The scent is nice but definitely strong, so keep that in mind if you’re sensitive to heavily fragranced hair products. One warning from me: don’t go overboard. Spraying too much can leave my hair looking oily rather than soft and shiny. A light mist is more than enough.
My routine really comes down to keeping my highlighted hair soft, manageable, and shiny without making it feel weighed down. L'Oréal is my everyday multitasker, EVA•NYC is the one I grab when detangling feels like a battle, and Verb Ghost Oil is my finishing touch for those dry-looking ends. Good hair days don’t always require a complicated routine. Sometimes it’s just about finding the few products your hair actually enjoys.
