Hot weather, sweat, and natural skin oils can make even the most flawless makeup fade quickly.
After plenty of trial and error, I’ve found a simple three-step routine that keeps my makeup looking fresh, seamless, and dewy all day—perfect for long shoots, busy workdays, or nights out!

1. Primer

A good primer is essential for creating a smooth base and preventing makeup from sliding off due to oils or sweat. It fills in fine lines, blurs imperfections, and helps keep pores clear to reduce breakouts. My go-to is the e.l.f. Power Grip Primer ($7), which I’ve been loving for over six months. It really makes concealers and cream products stay put throughout the day.

2. Setting Powder

Setting powder locks in your cream products like concealer, blush, and contour, preventing them from melting or creasing. Whether you prefer loose or pressed powder, translucent or tinted, lightly dabbing it all over your face with a fluffy brush keeps everything in place and extends your makeup’s wear time.

3. Setting Mist

After powder, a hydrating setting spray restores a natural, dewy finish so your makeup looks blended and airbrushed. Spritz your entire face once your routine is complete. I love the Jane Iredale Hydrating Pommimist ($38)—it’s refreshing, super hydrating, and smells like fresh pomegranates. No touch-ups needed!
Using a combination of primer, setting powder, and setting mist can make your makeup last 12+ hours while keeping your skin hydrated and radiant. These three steps are my foolproof way to stay flawless from morning to night.
