Dealing with acne can be frustrating—trust me, I've gone through years of flare-ups from college until now.
Through consistent dermatologist visits, trial-and-error with products, and tons of research, I eventually discovered the ingredients that work best for my acne-prone skin. Here are the top three that truly made a difference for me!

1. Tea Tree

Tea tree is a great option for those with mild to moderate breakouts. It has natural anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that help soothe redness, swelling, and irritation. The scent can be quite strong, though, so individuals with very sensitive skin might want to be cautious. One product I personally trust is the Pyunkang Yul Low pH Calming Cleanser—its gentle formula genuinely helps calm my irritated skin.

2. Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA)

AHAs work by exfoliating dead skin cells, improving texture, and revealing smoother, brighter skin underneath. Because it helps refine the surface of the skin, it's also effective for reducing dullness and slightly minimizing oiliness. A product I've had a good experience with is the Seoul White Bye Bye Acne Toner, which leaves my skin feeling fresher and less oily after use.

3. Salicylic Acid

Known for penetrating deep into the pores, salicylic acid helps dissolve excess oil, unclog pores, and calm redness. It's one of the most effective ingredients for treating active pimples and preventing new ones. I currently use the Ysera Skin Salicylic Acid Spot Treatment, and within just a few hours, I notice my pimples shrink and dry out faster.
Finding the right ingredients for acne-prone skin can take time, but these three—Tea Tree, AHA, and Salicylic Acid—have consistently worked wonders for me. Each one addresses acne in a different way, from calming inflammation to clearing pores and refining texture. If you're struggling with breakouts, exploring products that contain these ingredients could be a great first step toward clearer, calmer skin.
