What kind of home makes people want to stay?
A home should have a bouquet of flowers, adding visible beauty and a fragrant atmosphere, creating a comfortable mood.
No matter the household environment, flowers are always the simplest, most effective, and affordable decoration solution. For the price of a cup of coffee, you can maintain a good mood for a whole week. Creating home floral arrangements doesn't necessarily require exotic or high-end flowers.
It is advisable to choose affordable and seasonal common flowers to beautify the home, such as lilies, roses, carnations, calla lilies, and freesias. Home floral arrangements should also coordinate with the environment, including living rooms, bedrooms, coffee tables, dining rooms, bathrooms, etc., each with its considerations.
For example, floral arrangements placed on rectangular coffee tables in the living room should match the overall decoration style, with colors predominantly bright, natural, and elegant. Since the coffee table is visible from all sides, the floral arrangement should focus on horizontal and oval shapes.
In the corner of the living room sofa, the floral arrangement can be in the shape of a reversed "T" or "L", with free-form floral arrangements incorporating curved and straight lines for a more scattered and orderly appearance.
1. Single flower material floral arrangement:
For beginners, the simplest floral technique is to use a single type of flower. With this method, you don't need to consider main flowers, fillers, frameworks, or structures; just ensure overall harmony and unity to take a small step forward on the floral arrangement path.
2. Floral arrangement with multiple types of flower materials:
When arranging flowers in a vase, start with a main flower stem, insert one accompanying stem on each side, and then add some flowers, fruits, or leaves for variety, integrating them into a cohesive whole.
Avoid arranging flower stems neatly; the main flower stem should stand out, with accompanying stems shorter than the main stem. Avoid bundling all the flower stems together and inserting them at once. During the selection and insertion process, do not sandwich other varieties of flower stems and leaves between the same material. Large flowers should not be inserted too high to avoid a top-heavy appearance.
3. Choosing the right flower container:
In addition to the flower material itself, considerations for the container include material, height, mouth size, how much the flower heads protrude from the mouth, and how the lengths of flower stems are presented in different positions.
For flower materials with slender and graceful stems, shallow-mouthed or tall vases are preferable choices. For flowers with average stems, shorter glass vases can be selected. Trim the flowers to just above the mouth of the vase; whether using single or mixed flower materials, this can maximize the aesthetic appeal.
For flower materials with beautiful shapes that can be displayed with just one or two stems, choose some wide-mouthed containers to stabilize the direction of the flower materials while creating a Zen-like beauty.
4. Color coordination between flower container and flower material:
If the flowers themselves are of relatively soft colors, you can choose some brightly colored containers. However, if the flowers are very colorful, then the container should not be too bright; otherwise, the combination of two colors with strong impact may appear somewhat unattractive.
