1. What is the difference between deep diving and snorkeling?
Snorkeling is floating on the surface of the water using simple diving equipment such as a mask, snorkel, and flippers. The top end of the snorkel is kept above the surface of the water to provide a source of air.
Deep diving involves diving to greater depths (typically 5-40 meters) carrying cylinders filled with pressurized air and wearing buoyancy control gear.
2. Why do you need to get certified to dive?
In addition to learning theoretical knowledge, you will also practice the actual operation in the sea to cope with unexpected situations during the certification process. When you do not have a diving license, you can still participate in experiential diving activities, but for safety reasons, you can not swim on your own, you must be supported by the instructor. With a scuba diving license, you can fly more freely underwater, explore, and enjoy the fun of diving.
3. What is the OW certificate and what is the AOW certificate?
OW = Open Water, is the most basic diving license, which is also the world's largest number of diving licenses.
AOW = Advanced Open Water, based on the OW training to increase the training of 5 efficient diving special skills.
4. Can you get a scuba diving license?
There are only a few people who are not suitable for the diving license, including those who are afraid of water, and have a history of heart disease, high blood pressure, chest and respiratory disease, hemophilia, and other diseases.
5. Can you learn to dive if you don't know how to swim?
Not knowing how to swim does not affect the learning of diving courses, just that people who can swim tend to learn faster. The PADI requirements are to be able to swim 200 meters or snorkel 300 meters with a mask, snorkel, and flippers, or be able to float for 10 minutes, which is not a problem for most people. A few people tend to get nervous and panicky in the water before it is difficult to complete the course, so if you have enough time you can learn to swim first to overcome the fear of water and overcome the psychological barrier.
6. How long does it take to get certified?
It takes 4 days to get the PADI OW license, divided into theory learning, calm water practice, etc. The AOW takes 2 days. AOW takes 2 days and you must do 5 specialty courses including underwater navigation and deep diving.
7. The great white shark in the movie is terrifying, will people be attacked by sharks or other animals while diving?
No. The movies are exaggerated, but in fact, more people die from bee stings and being smashed under coconut trees every year than from shark bites.
8. Can you dive if you are nearsighted? Can you wear contact lenses while diving?
Nearsighted people can dive and can wear contact lenses while diving.
