Hi Lykkers! Concealer is one makeup step I can never skip. I’ve tried plenty of formulas, but high-end concealers have a certain feel I keep coming back to. The finish, texture, and way they sit with the rest of my makeup can make a noticeable difference.

I’m comparing two very different favorites: Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Concealer and Tarte Shape Tape Concealer. Since their coverage levels are not alike, I’m rating them based on how well each formula does its own thing rather than expecting them to perform the same way.

1. Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Concealer — 8/10

This one feels like my easy, everyday pick when I want my makeup to stay fresh and lightweight. The coverage starts on the lighter side, but I can build it up without feeling like I’m piling product onto my skin. The texture is creamy and comfortable, with a hydrating feel that works nicely when my skin is feeling a little dry. I also really like the soft, glowy finish. It gives my makeup a polished look without going too matte.

2. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer — 9/10

Tarte Shape Tape is a completely different mood. When I want stronger coverage, this is the one I reach for. A little product can make a big difference, so I try not to overapply. The formula has a fuller-coverage feel and gives me that more perfected finish I want for longer makeup days, special occasions, or whenever I want extra coverage. It has a thicker texture than Armani, so blending quickly works best for me. I also appreciate how well Shape Tape holds up once everything is set. It feels more like a “full makeup” concealer, while Armani gives me a softer everyday finish.

If I want lightweight, glowy, and comfortable makeup, Armani Luminous Silk wins for me. Tarte Shape Tape takes the lead whenever coverage is my priority. Both have earned a place in my makeup bag for completely different reasons. Sometimes I want my concealer to barely announce itself, and sometimes I want it to do the heavy lifting. That’s why I wouldn’t pick just one — it really depends on the makeup mood I’m in.
