Welcome, Readers! Finding a serum can be surprisingly confusing. One product promises hydration, another focuses on glow, and another is made for sensitive skin.
I’ve learned that instead of looking for one “perfect” serum, it makes much more sense to choose based on what my skin actually needs. So if you’re standing in front of your skincare shelf wondering which one to pick, these three are worth knowing about.
1. COSRX Full Fit Propolis Light Ampoule — For Dry & Dehydrated Skin
When my skin feels thirsty, this is the kind of serum I want in my routine. COSRX’s propolis ampoule contains 60% Black Bee Propolis Extract, giving it a nourishing and moisturizing feel without turning my routine into a heavy, complicated process. I particularly like it when my complexion feels dull or uncomfortable from dryness. The formula helps leave my skin feeling softer, calmer, and much more conditioned. For anyone whose main skincare goal is getting that comfortable, hydrated feeling back, this would be my first pick from the three.
2. Mary&May Idebenone Blackberry Complex Serum — For Dull & Uneven-Looking Skin
This is the one I’d reach for when my main concern is getting my complexion to look brighter and more refreshed. The formula combines 1,000 ppm idebenone with a 20% blackberry complex. I love that the focus isn’t only on glow; it also targets the overall appearance of skin tone, elasticity, and signs of aging. The antioxidant-focused formula makes it feel like a great addition when my skin is looking tired and lacks that healthy-looking radiance.
3. SOME BY MI Serum — For Sensitive Skin
Sensitive skin can make serum shopping feel like a guessing game because I don’t want something that feels heavy or overwhelming. The watery-gel texture of this SOME BY MI serum is what immediately stands out to me. It feels refreshing and lightweight, and it absorbs quickly without leaving that uncomfortable sticky layer behind. I’d especially consider it for days when my skin needs something simple and comfortable rather than a rich treatment.
If hydration is the priority, I’d go with COSRX. For a brighter, more youthful-looking complexion, Mary&May gets my vote. When lightweight texture and comfort matter most, SOME BY MI is the one I’d consider. Skincare doesn’t have to mean buying every serum on the shelf. I’d rather choose one that actually matches what my skin is asking for that day.
