Hi Lykkers! Toner layering used to sound like one of those extra beauty steps I probably didn’t need. Then I found a combination that made my skin feel so much more hydrated, and suddenly I understood the hype.
For me, the key isn’t simply putting two toners on my skin. The order makes all the difference. I start with the thinner, more watery formula and let it settle before adding anything richer on top.
1. Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Hyaluronic Toner
This is always my first step because of how lightweight it feels. I apply it right after cleansing, and the watery texture absorbs quickly without leaving my skin feeling sticky. It gives my skin that first layer of moisture and leaves it feeling fresh rather than coated. I also really enjoy the black rice ingredient in the formula. With consistent use, my complexion feels more comfortable and looks fresher, which is exactly what I want from the first layer.
2. Tony Moly Wonder Ceramide Mochi Toner
Once the first toner has settled but my skin still has a little bit of moisture left, I go in with Tony Moly’s Wonder Ceramide Mochi Toner. The texture feels richer and more cushiony, so it works beautifully as my second layer. This is the part of my routine that gives my skin that plump, bouncy feeling I love. The ceramide-focused formula is another reason I keep reaching for it. My skin feels softer and more comfortable, especially when dryness has been making my complexion feel tight.
Using two toners might sound excessive, but the combination makes sense for my skin. The Haruharu Wonder toner gives me that lightweight first layer, while the Tony Moly formula brings a richer dose of moisture and comfort. When I use both, my skin feels hydrated, bouncy, and calm. Makeup also seems to sit more nicely when my skin is properly moisturized underneath.
