Lykkers, sunscreen is probably one of the hardest beauty products for me to skip. I can change my serum, moisturizer, or makeup depending on the day, but sunscreen stays in the routine.
I’ve tried quite a few formulas over time, and two that I keep coming back to are Anessa and SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella. They have completely different textures and vibes, so I reach for them depending on what my skin needs that day.

1. Anessa Perfect UV Sunscreen

Anessa is the sunscreen I reach for when I know I’m going to spend more time outside. What I love most is how dependable it feels. The formula has a more substantial finish compared with some lightweight daily sunscreens, but it still sits nicely on my skin when I apply the right amount. It has become one of my favorites for busy days, especially when I’m going somewhere sunny or expect to be outdoors for longer. I also like the way it works underneath makeup without making my base feel unnecessarily complicated.

2. SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum

SKIN1004 feels completely different. The texture is one of the main reasons I enjoy using it because it feels much more like a lightweight skincare step than a traditional sunscreen. My skin feels comfortable and hydrated when I apply it, and I love the fresh finish it gives. It doesn’t have that heavy sunscreen feeling that can make me want to rush through my morning routine. This is the one I’m more likely to grab on an ordinary day when I’m staying mostly indoors or simply want something easy to wear with my skincare and makeup.
Honestly, I wouldn’t say one completely replaces the other. Anessa is my pick when I want a sunscreen that feels especially dependable for outdoor days. SKIN1004 wins when I want something lightweight, comfortable, and easy to incorporate into my everyday routine. Having both around makes sunscreen much less boring for me. Instead of forcing myself to use one formula every single day, I can choose based on what my day looks like.
