Welcome, Readers! Mascara is one of those makeup products I notice immediately. Even when I keep everything else simple, a good mascara can make my eyes look more awake and give the whole look a little more personality.
I also love having different formulas for different moods, because I don’t always want dramatic lashes. Right now, two mascaras that stand out to me are Charlotte Tilbury and L’Oréal. One feels more luxurious, while the other is much easier on the budget.
1. Charlotte Tilbury Exagger-Eyes Volume Mascara — $29
The Charlotte Tilbury Exagger-Eyes Volume Mascara is the one I’d pull out when I want my lashes to look noticeably fuller and more glamorous. The curved brush is a big part of the appeal for me. It helps give the lashes a lifted, fanned-out appearance instead of making them look like one heavy row. I like that effect when I’m doing a more polished makeup look, especially with eyeliner or a soft smoky eye. At $29, this definitely falls into my treat-yourself category. I wouldn’t necessarily save it only for special occasions, though.
2. L’Oréal Voluminous Panorama Washable Mascara — $15.99
The L’Oréal Voluminous Panorama Washable Mascara feels much more like an everyday companion to me. At $15.99, the price is considerably friendlier, which makes it easier to reach for whenever I want defined, fuller-looking lashes without feeling like I’m using a precious product. L’Oréal describes the brush as having multi-level bristles designed to coat lashes from corner to corner for a wider, fanned-out appearance.
If I’m dressing up and want my lashes to have more impact, Charlotte Tilbury is my pick. When I’m doing quick everyday makeup, L’Oréal Panorama makes more sense for my budget and routine. Honestly, I like having both options. One gives me that little luxury feeling, while the other is the mascara I can casually grab without thinking twice.
Sometimes the smallest step makes the biggest difference. A little mascara, a bit of confidence, and suddenly I’m much more ready to face the day.
