Hey Lykkers! I've realized that a good makeup day usually starts before I even touch my foundation. For the longest time, I skipped primer because I didn't think it made much of a difference.
After trying a few that actually worked for me, I completely changed my mind. Now, I rarely do my makeup without one because it helps everything apply more smoothly and gives my look a nicer finish from the very beginning.
1. Erborian Pink Primer & Care
Whenever I want my makeup to look soft and fresh, this is the primer I reach for first. I love how lightweight it feels, and it gives my skin a subtle healthy-looking glow before foundation even goes on. On days when I'm wearing light makeup, I sometimes catch myself admiring how nice my skin looks before I've finished the rest of my routine. Another reason I keep using it is that it doesn't feel heavy or greasy. My foundation glides on much more easily, and everything looks a little more even without feeling like I've piled on extra products.
2. Viva Queen Perfect Color Correcting Primer
This has become one of my favorite options whenever I want my makeup to look a little more balanced. I like applying a thin layer before foundation because it helps create a smoother canvas, and my complexion looks more even afterward. It gives me that extra confidence before I move on to the rest of my makeup. I also appreciate how easy it is to blend. It doesn't take much effort, so even when I'm rushing to get ready, I know I can count on it to make my makeup come together a little faster.
3. Iba Strobe to Glow Illuminating Primer + Moisturizer
Some mornings, I want my makeup to have a healthy glow without piling on extra highlighter. That's when I always reach for this one. The illuminating finish adds just enough brightness to make my complexion look fresh, and I love that it also has a moisturizing feel. I've even worn it with nothing more than a skin tint on relaxed weekends because I like the natural radiance it gives. It makes my makeup feel lighter while still looking put together, and that's something I appreciate on busy days.
I don't see primer as an optional step anymore. It has become the little detail that helps my makeup look more complete from the very beginning. Erborian Pink Primer & Care gives me a soft, effortless finish, Viva Queen Perfect Color Correcting Primer helps create a beautifully even base, and Iba Strobe to Glow Illuminating Primer + Moisturizer is my favorite whenever I'm craving a fresh, luminous look.
