Welcome, Lykkers! A good lip oil can do more than add shine—it can make dry lips feel comfortable while giving them a healthy, glossy finish.
I've picked up both luxury and affordable options over the years, hoping to find one that I'd want to carry everywhere. Surprisingly, price hasn't always matched my experience.
Some products looked beautiful on the shelf but didn't stand out once I started using them. These two lip oils ended up showing me that sometimes the less expensive option can be just as satisfying.

1. Gisou Honey Infused Lip Oil

Price: $32
I had high expectations before trying this one because it's often mentioned as a luxury favorite. The formula feels like a true lip oil, adding a glossy finish without feeling overly sticky. It keeps my lips comfortable, but beyond that, I didn't find anything particularly memorable about the experience. The scent also wasn't my favorite, and since the formula is completely clear, it doesn't add any hint of color.

2. Ulta Juice Infused Lip Oil

Price: $10
This one genuinely surprised me from the very first application. The texture is remarkably similar to the Gisou formula, giving my lips the same lightweight, glossy finish that feels nourishing instead of heavy. The biggest difference is the scent, which is fruity, fresh, and much more enjoyable every time I use it.
I also love that it leaves behind a soft tint. It's subtle enough for everyday wear but still gives my lips a little extra color, making it feel more versatile than a completely clear lip oil.
Trying products across different price ranges has reminded me that expensive doesn't automatically mean better. Both lip oils feel comfortable on the lips, but one simply offered more of the little details that made me want to keep using it. Lykkers, have you ever discovered a budget beauty product that performed just as well as a luxury favorite?
