Hydrating serums are one of those steps I never skip, especially when my skin starts feeling dull or tight for no clear reason. I don’t expect miracles from them, but I do look for that immediate sense of relief—like my skin can finally relax a bit.
Lately, I’ve been alternating between two: the carrot-based one from SKINFOOD and the well-known Dive In serum from Torriden. They both focus on hydration, but the way they deliver it feels quite different on my skin.

1. SKINFOOD Carrot Carotene Moist Effector

This one surprised me the first time I used it. The texture is slightly milky, not completely clear like most serums I’ve tried. When I spread it on my skin, it feels soft and a bit cushiony, almost like it’s adding a gentle layer of comfort. What stands out to me is how calming it feels. On days when my skin looks a little tired or uneven, this serum seems to help smooth things out—not in a dramatic way, but enough that my skin looks more at ease.

2. Torriden Dive In Serum

Dive In Serum feels like the opposite in texture. It’s clear, lightweight, and sinks in almost immediately. The first thing I noticed was how refreshing it feels—like a quick splash of hydration that doesn’t leave anything heavy behind. I like using this when my skin feels dehydrated but I don’t want any extra weight. It layers really well, which makes it easy to pair with other products. Sometimes I even apply a second layer, and it still feels light and clean.
Using both made me realize that hydration doesn’t always come in the same form. The SKINFOOD serum feels more comforting and slightly richer, while the Torriden one feels fresh and quick to absorb. I don’t really think of them as competitors. Instead, they fit different situations. When my skin feels sensitive or a bit off, I lean toward SKINFOOD. When I just need a light boost of hydration without anything extra, Torriden works perfectly.
