Gold serums always sounded a bit extra to me at first. The idea of “gold” in skincare felt more like marketing than something I’d actually notice on my skin.
But curiosity wins sometimes, especially when you’re in that phase of trying to make things look a bit more fresh and less tired.
Two I’ve tried recently are Bio-essence 24K Gold Water and Dewha Gold Intense Anti-Aging Daily Serum.
Bio-essence 24K Gold Water
This one feels very light from the start. The texture isn’t heavy or sticky, which makes it easy to layer into a routine without thinking too much about it. When I first used it, I expected something rich, but it turned out more watery and quick to settle.
What I notice most is the way it leaves the skin looking a bit more awake, not in a dramatic way, just slightly more even and less dull. It fits well into mornings when I don’t want too many steps but still want a bit of care. It’s simple, and that’s probably why I kept using it longer than I expected.
Dewha Gold Intense Anti-Aging Daily Serum
This one feels more concentrated, like it has a bit more weight to it. The texture is still smooth, but there’s a richer feel compared to the first one. I usually reach for it at night, when I don’t mind giving my routine a bit more time. It feels more intentional, like it’s meant to stay on the skin longer and do its thing slowly. After using it consistently, my skin feels a bit more comfortable the next day—not a sudden change, but a gradual difference that builds over time.
These serums sit in the same category but don’t really behave the same way. One is light and easy for everyday use, the other feels more like a slow, steady step at night. I don’t think of them as competing. They just fit into different parts of my routine, depending on how much effort I feel like putting in that day.
