A few years ago, I decided to stop using single-use makeup wipes, mainly to be more mindful about waste.
Honestly, it was one of those changes that sounded hard at first but turned out to be easy. I don’t miss wipes at all, and I actually feel like my makeup comes off more thoroughly now. As a bonus, this switch has been much more cost-effective in the long run.
1. Remove Makeup With a Cleansing Balm
My first step is always a cleansing balm, and my top choice is the Farmacy Clearly Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm ($36). I use the small spatula that comes with it to scoop out the product and spread it across different areas of my skin. Once it’s on, I massage it in with my hands until everything breaks down—foundation, mascara, and all.
Light layers, real skin—what combo survives heat? No melt, no mask! Fresh all day!
Powder, blush, or blend—does the brush matter? One tool changes everything! Pick right now!
Sweat, sun, shine—does your sunscreen hold up? No grease, no burn!
Dull skin again—does vitamin C really fix it? Bright boost or hype?! See real results now!
Glow or calm—why does niacinamide work so well? Smooth skin, fewer pores! Try now!
Fresh shades everywhere—why are spring nails stealing attention now? Gloss, tips, trends!
2. Follow With a Gentle Double Cleanse
To make sure nothing is left behind, I like to go in with a second cleanse. I use the CeraVe Hydrating Micellar Water ($14) and apply it to a reusable cotton pad. This step helps catch any leftover makeup and gives my skin an extra clean feeling without stripping it. Reusable pads are another small change that makes a big difference over time.
Switching from makeup wipes to reusable tools and cleansing products has completely changed how I remove makeup. My skin feels cleaner, my routine feels more intentional, and I’m creating far less waste. It’s one of those habits I’ll never go back on—and my skin definitely doesn’t miss the wipes either.
